My Philosophy:

Your Retirement is Personal

I believe retirement planning should be about more than just numbers on a spreadsheet. While many advisors treat retirement as primarily an investment challenge, we understand it’s actually about creating the financial freedom you need to enjoy life on your terms.

My team and I have a simple mission: to give you the clarity, confidence, and personal guidance you need to create a retirement filled with meaning and joy.

Meet Greg

Greg Kurinec, CFP® | Founder & Advisor

I founded Pennant Planning because I believe retirement planning should be personal. Not just a transaction or a portfolio review, but a relationship where I truly get to know you and what matters most in your life.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I love connecting with clients who are approaching retirement. I’m the advisor who picks up when you call, remembers the details of your family, and explains complex concepts in plain English. My goal is simple: help you find genuine fulfillment in retirement and confidence in your finances.

I studied Financial Planning and Counseling at Purdue University’s College of Health and Human Sciences – a top program nationally. The CFP® designation I hold isn’t just letters after my name – it’s my commitment to always act in your best interest and maintain the highest fiduciary standards.

I started my own firm because I saw how larger companies often lost the personal touch. At Pennant Planning, you’re never just an account number. Your financial wellbeing and retirement success matter to me as much as my own.

As a Chicago native and lifelong Cubs fan, you won’t fail to find me on Opening Day at Wrigley Field or enjoying the fabulous food and live music abundant across the Windy City. I’ve built my entire career around educating people about retirement and investing, and nothing makes me prouder than seeing clients enjoy the retirement they’ve worked so hard to achieve.

I’d love to meet you and learn about your retirement dreams. Let’s talk soon!

I know a great deal of trust is required of retirement clients – we are talking about your livelihood here. It’s as much about your comfort with your planner as it is about the planning services. To provide retirees and those preparing to retire opportunities to learn useful planning insights, and get to know me, I lead in-person workshops and education sessions at locations across the greater Chicago metro area.
